Welcome to Peaton Hill Community Nature Reserve.

A very windy Happy New Year!

What a way to bring in 2012!!! High winds, fallen trees, leaky roofs and slippy boardwalks have kept the committee of Peaton Hill Community Nature Reserve very busy indeed!!! However for all the wreckless damage and havoc that the wind has caused, our committee have found positives and new ways to avoid fallen branches. 2012 looks to be a calendar filled year as we kick start with:

RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch!!!!

29th January 2012

PHNR are calling for volunteers of all ages to join in Sunday, 29th Jan 2012 starting for 1100am.

Our aim is to document as many species within one hour!!! Pencils and Bird logs will be provided. All you need to bring along is your enthusiasm and a pair of wellies!! Upon arrival, let  yourselves be known to members of the committee and with the help of a very easy map you will be directed to an area of the reserve to conduct your survey. Just make sure you hand in your log sheets on completion!

Cove Park situated across the road from our reserve are kindly opening their Cafe doors for a hot steamy cuppa and a piece of cake, to help you warm up afterwards. Toilets will be available on site.
